Welcome to Mondo Taalschool
Mondo Taalschool is a public primary school catering specifically to non-Dutch speaking children aged 6 - 12 who moved to or near Amsterdam Center & South less than a year ago. Our focus is on providing language education to children who are likely to reside in the Netherlands for an extended period. Our goal is to immerse these children in Dutch language education within approximately one year, enabling them to integrate in mainstream education succesfully. We also assist parents in finding suitable follow-up school for their children once they have attained sufficient proficiency in Dutch.
Sometimes Mondo Language School can be the best solution for a child older than 5 years and 9 months, but not already 6. Mondo Language School makes a decision about admission after consultation with parents and/or other parties involved.

At Mondo Taalschool, we prioritize creating a secure and nurturing environment for our students, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported. In the optimal situation children are grouped with peers in three age categories: lower grades (ages 6- 8), middle grades (ages 8 - 10), and upper grades (ages 10 - 12), with a maximum of 16 students per group. Our curriculum is structured around thematic learning, and each child is placed in instruction groups based on their proficiency in both their native language and Dutch, allowing them to progress at their own pace.
In addition to comprehensive Dutch language instruction, our curriculum includes mathematics, music, physical education (when possible also swimming), and arts. These activities are designed not only to enhance vocabulary but also to foster a sense of belonging within Dutch society.
